Start with good wood.
Glue up huge pieces.
Pillar glue-up and fitting.
Pattern and copy carefully.
Finger joints are essential.
Layout and Check.
This is a serious finger joint machine. Stand
back!
New next to old.
Front door rear frame
pieces.
Front door top frame. Window slot being cut.
Copying is difficult since the old was not quite the
right shape.
Right and left frames compared.
Immense amount of work went into the fitting and panel
installation.
Veneer is Quartered Ribbon Sapele, an African wood with
dramatic patterns.
Four doors installed. First six coats of finish applied.

Fitting the wheel arches to the frame and body. Trickiest part of
the
whole job!
Belt line attached last. Assembly was built onto the car since
the
old frames were totally rotten and
could not be copied with any accuracy.

Frames assembled and prefinished before final installation.

on right shows how the fender bolt anchors
are secured into half inch holes with spade bit as screwdriver in high
powered
drill.
All stainless steel hardware was used on door and frame assemblies.

Arch installed with stricker plate attached.
Tail
light is temporary unitl correct Plymouth set is located.

Ribbon Sapele Veneers on the exterior panels. Lacewood veneer on
dash.
Steering wheel is vintage 50's hot rod add on.
